Lesson 20 of 90

What is uptime and why is it important?

Uptime measures the percentage of time active two-sided quotes are present in the order book. Low uptime increases volatility and undermines exchange confidence. High uptime ensures consistent price discovery and trader confidence. Target uptime thresholds of >95% and embed them as contractual obligations in your market making agreement.
